An intersection of product and culture
Beats By Dre is an iconic headphone brand that’s widely recognized in sports, music, and fashion. My team and I were tasked with designing the Beats website that includes the latest stories from these cultural spaces as well as the latest products. The challenge resulted with a straightforward navigation between article pages and product pages designed with the boldness and simplicity of the Beats brand.

Scope
Website design
A simple navigation
For a clean user experience, we limited the navigation to three items: discover, shop, and support. Using search data, we found that people were most interested in discovering Beats content, shopping for headphones, and finding product support.
Digestible stories
Whether it was about Billie Eilish making a song or Lebron working in the gym, we wanted our stories to keep the reader engaged. Instead of a traditional format with long body paragraphs, we kept copy to a miniumum and used large images and graphics to visually tell the story.
Concise product details
We understood people would look to third party retailers like Amazon and Best Buy for detailed product information. Instead of duplicating this effort, we designed our product pages to concisely summarize key features and to visually display the headphones.
